Sint-Trudo Hospital

At the beginning of 2013, the finishing touches were put to the extension and renovation of the Sint-Trudo hospital in Sint-Truiden. This was the architectonic icing on the cake of the merger between the former Sint-Anna and Sint-Jozef hospitals. The eye-catcher in the project is the huge metal egg at the entrance, made by the local artist Koen Vanmechelen.

Together with Boeckx’ architectural firm Haelvoet furnished the single and double rooms. Ergonomics and user-friendliness were the top priorities during this process. That’s why we first furnished some trial rooms. By doing this beforehand, we can discover potential elements that can be easily prevented, such as swing doors that are in the way of something else. After these trial rooms had been seen and approved, the customer was more than happy to opt for our Aron hospital beds, Ilana bedside tables and Fero chairs.
