What is learned in the cradle…

The pupils of the fifth year of the primary school Marialoop (Meulebeke) visited the Haelvoet factory this week.

As part of the project Science and Technology of Rotary Oostrozebeke-Mandeldal, the enthusiastic youngsters were given a guided tour in our showroom, discovered our 3D printer and were then introduced to the different production units. During the tour they even got the opportunity to use a drill, operate a machine and make their own pen holder.

The aim is to introduce the wonderful world of technology, tools and materials to young people aged 10 – 12. Technical profiles are highly sought after in the job market. The reactions of the pupils afterwards were very positive and the applications to come work for Haelvoet in the near or rather distant future could not be counted. Mission accomplished!
